Founded in 2010, Brightec are widely recognised in the temperature-controlled transport industry as leading experts in the field of energy efficient cargo climate control. Brightec are committed to reducing energy use in temperature-controlled transport through keeping the cold chain intact at its most vulnerable stage. With our product BlueSeal® air curtains, we achieve this by providing the most effective solution to maintaining cargo climate in a method that allows drivers to make deliveries unhindered by a physical barrier.
BlueSeal air curtains are designed and manufactured in Holland.
BlueSeal air curtains are protected by several patents
The BlueSeal Original air curtain is PIEK certified. All BlueSeal air curtains operate below 60dB
Where possible, BlueSeal is made from low-carbon aluminium, produced using renewable energy from hydro, wind and solar power.
We aim to provide transporters with the most efficient form of cargo climate control on the market, keeping products fresh during door openings and preventing energy loss at the most vulnerable stage of the cold chain.
BlueSeal air curtains allow drivers make deliveries without obstruction by creating an invisible but effective method of climate control that does not hinder the driver in their daily operation.
We believe that commercial transport can coexist with climate goals. Our technology is designed to actively promote cleaner, sustainable methods of temperature-controlled transport and distribution.
The idea of an air curtain for vehicles is first suggested as a method of saving energy for a zero-emission refrigerated truck concept at Econcern in the Netherlands.
Econcern R&D, led by Dr. Hans Opdam, run first performance tests on the air curtain which yield positive results. A prototype is created for a mobile air curtain.
Following the bankruptcy of Econcern, co-inventor and patent holder Dr. Hans Opdam buys all rights to the mobile air curtain, forms the company Brightec and designs BlueSeal air curtain version 1 (Original).
Brightec files five patents for BlueSeal air curtains, based on the results of product optimisation from their R&D team.
Brightec introduces the first BlueSeal Compact model to the range to cater for smaller vehicles without compromising on loading height. Several updates and developments have been made to the Compact Model in the years since.
BlueSeal receives independent testing by the Centre for Sustainable Energy Use in Food Chains (CSEF) at Brunel University, who identify impressive energy savings of 45% in their 18-tonne truck model when recovering cargo temperature, and 30% in a small box truck.
Through a collaborative project with leading French bodybuilder Lamberet, BlueSeal Customs is formed to produce an air curtain for an integrated shutter door, which is debuted Solutrans on Lamberet’s Distri+ trailer.
Brightec launches the BlueControl module for BlueSeal air curtains, a peripheral device that encourages drivers to minimise the duration of door openings, leading to greater product preservation and reduced fuel consumption.
Brightec partners with Thermo King to offer exclusive distribution of BlueSeal air curtains to the US and Canada through their exclusive dealership network
