BlueSeal air curtains introduce BlueControl Modular to their range for further enhanced cargo climate control
BlueSeal air curtains by Brightec are fast becoming one of the most popular ways for transporters in cold chain to preserve cargo temperature during deliveries and are featured on the vehicles of food and pharmaceutical distributors worldwide where maintaining cargo temperature is a critical factor.
By controlling energy loss and exposure to outside temperatures during door openings with an effective climate barrier, goods are kept fresh for longer and there is a significant reduction in cooling fuel use during distribution.
In 2022, BlueSeal introduced BlueControl to their BlueSeal Original models, an integrated module featuring a range of features that would further enhance cargo climate control for drivers. Through the introduction of a display unit that alerts drivers to the duration of door openings, BlueControl helps to keep exposure to outside temperatures to a minimum. In turn, this reduces the strain on refrigeration equipment to keep cargo at the desired temperature leading to greater product preservation (especially during multiple delivery stops).
Due to the ongoing success of BlueControl as an integrated unit, the team at Brightec set to work on creating a standalone version. This modular unit (measuring 120x120x55mm) was designed to bring the added functionality of BlueControl to all BlueSeal models, most notably BlueSeal Compact, the slimline version of BlueSeal, and BlueSeal Customs models.
With the addition of BlueControl Modular, installation of BlueSeal air curtains is simplified. BlueControl modular allows the air curtains to connect directly to the vehicle’s battery (or other power source) without the need for additional components, which allows for a much faster setup as a Plug & Play device.
BlueControl Modular features a timer and a battery guard function with a cut-off that can be set by the user in order to prevent battery drainage if doors are left open. Further to this, BlueControl Modular also features an integrated light sensor that can detect door openings without the need for additional components while still allowing for magnetic door switches.
Hans Opdam, inventor of BlueSeal air curtains, said of this new addition, “With how well the integrated version of BlueControl was received by our customers, we are delighted to be now able to offer this enhanced functionality to all our BlueSeal units.
Despite how well BlueSeal performs at maintaining cargo temperature, we also know that any climate barrier has limitations when doors are left open for too long. Because of this, we looked at how we could encourage driver behaviour that would minimise the duration of door openings and BlueControl has received praise from our customers for helping them to achieve this more effectively.”
